Do You Need to File the Agreement?
You are not required to file your agreement for it to be legally binding. However, you may choose to file it with the Supreme Court or Provincial Court of British Columbia.
Filing your agreement:
Allows it to be enforced as a court order, both through the court and with enforcement agencies.
Can be done at any time, even after signing.
You do not need to file the agreement with us or anyone else. Most people simply keep it in a safe place at home or in a safety deposit box. It is a binding document between you and your spouse. You may also scan or photocopy it for easy reference.
