Entering your information accurately

You’ll be asked to enter your basic information, such as your name and personal details. It’s important to enter this information as accurately as possible.

Correct spelling, capitalization, and formatting matter because this information flows directly into your Separation Agreement. Small errors, like a misspelled name or inconsistent capitalization, can carry through to the final document and may need to be corrected later.

That said, you’re not locked in. You can come back and update this information at any time. The goal is to be as accurate as you can from the start, knowing that you can refine details as needed as you move through the process.

Handling income information

When entering your income information, the figures you use should ultimately match the income amounts from your formal support calculations.

At the beginning, it’s okay to work with your best estimate of current income or to use line 15,000 from your most recent income tax return as a starting point. This allows you to move forward while you gather documents or complete more detailed calculations.

Once you’ve completed a full support calculation, you should return to this section and update the income figures to reflect the finalized amounts. This step is important because income figures flow through to support calculations and related terms in your agreement.

Keeping this information up to date ensures your Separation Agreement is based on accurate financial details and gives you a solid foundation as you move toward finalizing it.
