Completing the legal history section
The Legal History section is where you record any important legal background between you and your spouse. If you’ve had previous separation agreements, court applications, court orders, or other formal legal processes, it’s wise to include that information here.
Providing a clear legal history helps ensure your Separation Agreement is accurate, complete, and properly reflects what has already happened between you.
The Builder will guide you through common scenarios, but not every situation fits neatly into a set of predefined options. If the available questions don’t fully capture your circumstances, you can add more detail using the Add a Clause feature. This allows you to explain prior agreements, ongoing court matters, or unique legal arrangements in plain language.
As with other sections, you can return and update this information as needed. The goal is to give a clear and honest picture of your legal history so your Agreement is built on the right foundation.
